Bacterium Kulture Samples (Phase I)

Back To The Bacterium Kulture Samples Main Menu

The first ten pieces from the Bacterium Kulture Samples, also known
as the Phase I Samples are the earliest instances of experimentation
with shape and color theory that would eventually evolve into the
definitive style that makes up this rather colorful abstract body of work.

This small portion of the series is typically defined by the predominant
usage of French curves and architect templates, which would eventually
be phased out and replaced by more freehand rendering as the
series progressed.  It is here that the basic foundations for this
series was established; such as all (or most of) the pieces being
rendered upon light gloss paper to produce a more vibrant
effect against the pieces' glass frame housing, wherever the
metallic marker patterns would reside over the areas painted
by highlighter markers and reflect the lighting produced by
the glass, which is really not that noticeable here
due to digital image scanning limitations.
